The Bull Sheet: Issue 2 – April 18, 2024

Thanks for checking out The Bull Sheet! We hope you enjoy our newsletter and most importantly we hope to see you at the track during our 2024 race season!

OFF TO A GOOD START
Our Teddy’s Water Hauling WinterThaw back on March 30th was a great way to start the new season of racing! We had solid car counts and a good turnout in the grandstands to help kick off the 56th season of racing. We’re looking to use this to build upon for the rest of the season and hope you’ll join us every chance you get.

NEW TOWER
If you haven’t seen it, we have a new scoring/announcing tower for this season and beyond thanks to Hexed Haunted Attraction. Timmy and Misty Meadows from Hexed have helped us with a much-needed upgrade. Also, special thanks have to go out to Maggard Insurance (Darrel and Christina Maggard) for help with the tower as well as a new heating/cooling system and Wide-Open Window Tint (Josh and Brittany Taylor) for tinting the windows.

We’ve got a lot more work to do with the tower and other places around the track that we’d like to renovate, facelift or upgrade. We appreciate all the support we have and look forward to continuing to improve Franklin County Speedway for our future.

GOLD RUSH!
Bring the Kids out this Sunday, April 21st for the rescheduled Pepsi Kid’s Gold Rush event featuring our Kid’s Gold Rush with over $200 in coins thrown on the front straightaway for all the kids to pick up. So, bring out the kids and let them make some money and maybe they’ll even pay for their own Nachos at the concession stand…

CONCESSIONS
Speaking of concessions, we have the infield and front side concessions back open and we’re looking forward to serving you all this Sunday. We’ve got a limited menu available right now, but we’ve heard good things from you guys about our hot dogs. Check us out and let us know what you think, so we can continue to improve our options.

PEPSI
We’ll have a few more options when it comes to soft drinks this weekend as well. In addition to Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper that we’ve always got on tap, we’ve added Starry, Diet Mt. Dew, Diet Dr. Pepper and Wild Cherry Pepsi. Let us know if there’s something else you think we should offer.

THE MODIFIEDS ARE COMING
If it were April 18, 1775, Paul Revere would be riding his horse shouting “the British are coming”, instead it’s April 18, 2024, and while we’re not riding a horse, we are shouting “the Modifieds are coming!” It might still be five weeks away, but the SMART Modified Tour coming to Franklin County Speedway is the biggest annual event in Franklin County, VA! Make plans to attend on Friday, May 24th!

STOCK4
The Stock4 division is once again proving to be one of the best divisions of racing anywhere in the country. This season is off to a wild start with multiple disqualifications stemming from the new weight rule and lessened camber rule but that’s not all. There’s a feud building and not just between two drivers. Josh Hinchee and Keyshaun Claytor went at it in the second race of the opening night races and exchanged some words post-race.

The competition in this division is tighter than ever and after several top drivers missed opening weekend, many of them are ready to go for the second race or will be out on the track soon. Keep your eyes on these guys and not just Hinchee and Keyshaun, there’s more to the story if you watch the whole field battle. Two different winners on opening night, will we get two more during the Sunday afternoon show?

PODCAST
Have you been listening to the Pit Chatter Podcast? Things have heated up in the last couple of weeks with two great episodes with Keyshaun Claytor and Wes Givens. Neither of those two guys have held anything back. Be sure you’re listening to the latest episode and let us know who you think would make a great guest in the future.

INEX SANCTIONING
If you haven’t noticed, our Legends car dates are officially listed on the INEX Legends schedule for National points. That means if a driver is seeking points, they can come race with us on any given weekend we’re racing. We’re looking forward to where the INEX sanctioning can help us take our car counts going forward.
