Chargers Rules

The 2019 Orange County Speedway Charger Rulebook will be used. With the following amendments (which are subject to change without notice):

1 – Older Straight rail chassis may compete provided they meet all other rules with an additional 2% right side weight. Additional weight may be added to even competition as necessary.

2 – Small Late Model Clutch may be run with an additional 25-pound right side weight penalty added to the car. Must declare this at the scales.

3 – 450 carburetor may be run in place of the 500/Reducer Plate combination if the plate is unavailable. We are currently trying to source some of the plates to have them available at the track.

If you have something that’s a little different let us know and we’ll see how we can make it work to allow you to race. Call Langley Austin at 276.613.4208 or langley@race22.com to discuss.

Tire Options:

Chargers must run Hoosier F-45 scuff tires. They must not exceed 5/32 tread depth in any hole across the tire as determined by the track.

Any tire exceeding the tread depth rule will be ineligible to race during that night’s events. And qualifying position will be forfeited for the night. It’s your job to know your tires are within the legal limitations.

Scuff tires are available from the track for $35/tire. You must mount them yourself with the tire machine provided or you can buy them ahead of time and mount them at your shop.
