Former NASCAR Driver, Jeremy Mayfield to Race at Franklin County Speedway on May 11th

Former NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield is set to make his third appearance at Franklin County Speedway during the Boone Tractor Mother’s Day Special on Saturday, May 11th at 7pm.

Mayfield is no stranger to the “World’s Fastest 3/8-mile Paved Oval” with twin victories in his first start at the track in 2022 with the Grand National Super Series. He returns with the same series this year, now running full-time and looking to repeat his previous fortunes at the Callaway, VA track.

“Jeremy (Mayfield) is a hard-nose racer and has found himself a good home with the Grand National Super Series,” explained Franklin County Speedway promoter Langley Austin. “I expect him and the entire series to put on a great show like they did in their previous visits. It’s also a great opportunity for fans to meet a driver they once saw racing on TV regularly and the other competitors.”

Mayfield will compete in twin 50-lap races with the Grand National Super Series during the Boone Tractor Mother’s Day Special. Mayfield hopes to hold off a host of other Grand National Super Series regulars including the most recent driver to sweep twin races at Dominion Raceway a few weeks back, Jason Kitzmiller as well as JJ Pack, Joe Wilder (who won at Franklin County Speedway last summer), Series owner Bob Schacht, Kevin Kromer, Lauren Butler and more.

In addition to Mayfield and the Grand National Super Series drivers, the local drivers will be in action with the Mini Stocks, Moneta Tractor & Trailer Legends and the Stock4 division. 210 laps of racing action on tap to help celebrate Mother’s Day. Before the race, fans will have the chance to meet with Mayfield and the other racers during a Pit Party on the front straightaway starting at 6:15pm with racing at 7pm.

Tickets will be available at the gate. Adults are $15/person with kids under 10 getting in free. More information is available at https://fcspeedway.com/
