FULL SCHEDULE OUT SOON
The 2024 Schedule is about ready to be released. We’ve been working to finalize some dates with some touring series and waiting for some other pieces to fall into place. You’re going to be excited with what we’ve put together with dates secured with the SMART Modified Tour, Carolina Crate Modified Series, Carolina Pro Late Model Series, Grand National Super Series, Super Cup Series, Virginia Vintage Racers, East Coast Flatheads, Eastern Midgets and more.
The Meeks Pick-n-Pull Police Race will return for the fourth year on Saturday, August 24th. This race has turned into one of the fan favorites with area policemen and women joining the field and competing for the win. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department has taken home the trophy for the last two years and will be looking to keep the trophy at home again this summer.
NUMBER REGISTRATION
Don’t forget to register your number for the 2024 season. Numbers are available on a first come, first serve basis with 2023 registrants being held until January 31, 2024. Numbers are $50 for the 2024 season. Anyone who doesn’t register a number will be subject to change their numbers on race day and will only receive entry points and no points for the finishing position.
All drivers who have registered their numbers for the 2024 season will receive free practice on Sunday, February 25th from 1pm to 5pm ahead of our season opening event. Get registered before this practice day to receive free practice for the car, driver, and crew (a value of more than $50 for most teams).
2024 DIVISIONS
In 2024 we will be pairing down our divisions to encourage growth in car count and more entertainment for the fans. This year we will only have four distinctly different divisions.
Division 1 – LATE MODELS
Late Models will be our Division I for the 2024 season. With an inclusive rulebook that allows engines from true NASCAR Late Model Stock Cars to older Late Models and even Limited and Sportsman division engines. This class will feature all your favorite big V-8 car drivers in a competitive race for the win at each event.
Division 2 – MINI STOCKS
Mini Stocks will be our Division II for the 2024 season. This division will race under a specific rulebook that helps close the gaps between the Carolina Mini Stock Challenge Series that most North and South Carolina tracks race by and the Mod4s that compete at Western Virginia and East Tennessee tracks. From true old-school Mini Stocks to today’s Front Wheel Drive Mini Stocks and today’s tube chassis Mod4s, everyone can be competitive in this class.
Division 3 – LEGENDS
Legends will be our Division III for the 2024 season. This division was first introduced here in the fall of 2022 and with their first full season in 2023, the 2024 season looks like the biggest yet. With a nationwide appeal and only one rulebook, the Legends could grow to be the biggest division at Franklin County Speedway.
Division 4 – STOCK4
Stock4 will be our Division IV for the 2024 season. With the largest car counts most nights for the last two years, the Stock4 division has become a fan favorite. The drivers in this division find themselves in tight battles with rules designed to keep the field tight and they have to beat and bang and force their way to any finishing position they can earn in a solid field of cars.
DESTRUCTION
Our popular Nights of Destruction events will be revamped for the 2024 season to make the events bigger, better, and more destructive. Our first Destruction event will take place on Saturday, June 29th with the Karnage Klash. We’ll have some announcements soon, but prepare for the biggest and best Night of Destruction events yet!
MINI STOCK RULES
The rules for the Mini Stocks have taken us longer than we thought, but they’ll be out next week. Have no fear though, if your car was legal (actually legal, not just that it passed tech, lol) in 2023, it’ll be legal in 2024 with little to no changes for anyone.
PODCAST
Have you listened to the first episode of our podcast, the Pit Chatter Podcast??? If you haven’t, you need to. We’re planning to release a new episode every Wednesday.
The podcast will feature talk from the promoter, Langley Austin, on the latest happenings on and off the track during the season as well as cool guests. We’re planning to chat with our current racer base as well as dig into the past of the track talking to former owners, former promoters, former tech men, former racers and so much more. You won’t want to miss an episode and you can listen almost anywhere. YouTube, our website, Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and nearly every podcasting platform out there.
SPONSORSHIP
Are you actively looking for sponsors for the 2024 season? Need some help? We’d like to help you to help yourself. If you guys are interested we will schedule a free Sponsorship Seminar to help you get the funding you need for the upcoming race season. Let us know if you’re interested.
That’s it for this issue of The Bull Sheet. You guys stay warm out there in this cold and snowy weather as we await the start of the 2024 racing season!
